Forest Lodge stems from a rich history of pioneering skiers and mountaineers from Mt Cheeseman Ski Club formally known as Canterbury Winter Sports Club.
Founded in 1929, the members of the ski club hiked in materials 6km from State Highway 73 to build an alpine hut (the original site of Forest Lodge) at the base of the mountain. It was from here that they could then walk directly up the mountain to do one or two laps of skiing, then back down to the hut to repeat again the next day!

Nowadays, Forest Lodge is a year round adventure hub, working towards having an Eco Lodge status.
Still offering a prime base in the winter for skiing and snowboarding (not to mention onsite ice rink), but also provides a mountain bikers paradise boasting the best access in the area to our world renown Craigieburn Trails.

Falcon Heights- 6 bunk (3-tier)
Robins Nest- 6 bunk ( 2-tier)
Fantail Glen- 6 bunk (3-tier)
Kea Nook- 6 bunk (2-tier)
Tui Vale- 6 bunk (3-tier)
Bellbird View- 6 bunk (2-tier)
Guests supply their own bedding/linen (Can be hired at $10 per person)
Pillows and extra woollen blankets provided.

The self-catering kitchen is fully furnished with a 6-hob gas burner, large gas oven, fridge, plenty of pots and pans, plates, bowls, and ample cooking utensils.
Outside BBQ available for use.
NB: There is NO FREEZER onsite, bring chilly bins!

There are two separate sex shared bathrooms, each with two hot showers and two toilets.
Forest Lodge isolated, off-grid lodge located 6km up a gravel skifield road.
Be prepared for all the elements.
Limited cell phone coverage and electricity.
[Electricity is provided through solar power and diesel generator. [24/7 power to fridge, solar lighting, oven, & phone charging]

*Bedding and linen can be hired for an extra $10pp.
**Our lodge is on a septic tank so all cleaning and hygiene products used must be natural with no nasty chemicals. We have the Eco Store soap and shampoo available for purchase if need be

Exclusive LODGE BOOKings
Forest Lodge is also available for exclusive lodge bookings for events, birthdays, functions, conferences, retreats etc.
The nightly rate is $1000. The lodge sleeps 38 people in dorm-style accommodation.
